The WordPress Developer will be the technical architect and manager for a growing portfolio of WordPress blogs. The WE will be responsible for general WordPress back-end coding and tech support as well as supporting a portfolio of mobile/app websites. This position could be a gateway to an executive Chief Technology Officer position for an ambitious coder and strategic thinker. The WE will report directly to the CEO and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

Design, maintain and build plugin integration for existing WordPress blog and website
Develop and manage mobile websites
Ability to test, debug, deploy applications in development and production-class environments
Prioritize bugs and troubleshoot issues with hosting provider
Assist Director of Ad Operations with advertising integrations
Work with creative design teams to turn designs into a working reality maintaining brand consistency
Work within budgetary constraints and have the discretion to simplify when necessary
Keep abreast of WordPress enhancements and updates and make recommendations on how they can be used to improve the site.
Hands on set-up and maintain a given look/feel of a campaign across various media
Isolate existing weaknesses in code base and optimize based on industry best practices
Maintain website and network security principles and best practices
Respond to emergency technical issues (be on call 24/7)
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

3-5 Years Minimum experience in a web development field
Advanced/Expert proficiency level in WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, XML
Must be familiar with using SVN for project version control
WordPress VIP hosted websites experience a plus
WordPress core contributor, plugin or theme authoring experience a plus
Ability to work on and prioritize multiple tasks at any given time
Four year degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field preferred
Will be required to demonstrate proficiency in above technologies prior to interview
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
Ability to travel is required

– Create one parent theme and at least two child themes to be deployed in a multisite environment
– Build functionality into theme such as custom menu behavior, faceted search, responsive break points, and slideshow customization
– Create approximately 10 templates

Successful bidder shall have the following:

– Experience with creating responsive themes for WordPress
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Experience with version control systems
– Experience modifying stock WordPress behaviors

I am a front-end developer, and I built and designed the site myself. However, all of the backend membership and payment mechanisms are from so-so plugins and need a sprucing up and a few added features. Those sorts of programming tasks aren’t really in my wheelhouse.

Looking for someone who can do things like:

- Autogenerate coupon codes (100′s – 1000′s at a time)
- Build better receipts with Stripe
- Customize/upgrade a membership plugin

Hoping this will be a 10-20 hour project, and you can collaborate with me on making these changes — teach me a few things perhaps.
