Location Details:

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

The Operations SRE Manager plays a critical role in overseeing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams focused on maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure supporting GoDaddy’s Hosting and Security products, including Managed WordPress, Pagely, Web Hosting (cPanel), VPS, and PKI. This position will be specific to WordPress SRE Operations; however, you will work with managers across all the GoDaddy teams.

This position is instrumental in driving initiatives across teams, participating in planning and scoping exercises and ensuring alignment with company-wide infrastructure goals. The Operations SRE Manager will collaborate with cross-functional leaders and capability-based teams to simplify and unify systems, reduce costs, and achieve optimal outcomes for our customers. This role requires a strong sense of ownership to represent WordPress products effectively in meetings, emails, and general communications.

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (5:00 AM – 2:00 PM PST)

What you’ll get to do…

  • Drive initiatives across SRE teams to enhance infrastructure and product reliability.
  • Participate in planning and scoping exercises to align with business goals.
  • Represent WordPress products effectively in meetings and communications, taking strong ownership of their success.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster technical and non-technical growth.
  • Part of on-call rotations, extending outside normal business hours. Manager is always the third on call, if the primary and secondary are not available. Manager will also share in an on-call rotation for incident command.
  • Partner with SysAdmin and Care teams to address operations holistically.
  • Work directly with end consumer (customer) when within the scope of our Pagely and enterprise offerings.

Your experience should include…

  • Proven experience leading SRE teams in designing automation for systems and platforms.
  • Deep understanding of Web Hosting, Security, and WordPress.
  • Experience with building platforms on OpenStack, utilizing Terraform, Ansible, KVM, Ceph Storage, and networking concepts.
  • Proficient with Nomad, Docker, and containerization technologies.
  • Proficiency in Bash and Linux-based systems is a requirement.

You might also have…

  • Experience with AWS platform development using CDK, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
  • Skilled in data visualization and time-series/log collection systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, Elastic, and Splunk.
  • Strong understanding of testing, automation, and CI/CD processes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and PHP is a plus.
  • Experience with Cilium and eBPF-based networking is a plus.

GoDaddy’s target compensation is determined based on your location and varies based on an individual’s qualifications, skills and experience at the time of the offer. For this role, our targeted base pay ranges for new hires in each US Group are:

  • Group 1: $116,000.00 – $174,000.00
  • Group 2: $130,000.00 – $195,000.00
  • Group 3: $138,000.00 – $207,000.00
  • Group 4: $151,000.00 – $226,000.00
