Marketing Specialist

We are hiring a Marketing Specialist to take ownership of hands-on marketing tasks that drive traffic, conversions, and customer engagement. This role is ideal if you thrive on doing the work—publishing, optimizing, and executing—rather than just planning.

You’ll deliver our marketing strategy (developed with our agency), evaluate results, and constantly seek new opportunities to grow sales. This is a permanent, full-time remote role with flexible hours.

What you’ll do
You’ll own day-to-day marketing execution, while coordinating with our agency, colleagues, and external providers as needed.

Core responsibilities:

  • Email marketing – Create and update Mailchimp automation sequences, one-off announcements, and newsletters.
  • SEO maintenance – Implement SEO updates to blog posts and product pages.
  • Outreach – Research and execute link building and outreach, and oversee the Marketing Assistant’s link building work.
  • Social media – Prepare and schedule posts using management tools.
  • Continuous improvement – Spot opportunities to improve SEO, AI optimization, and marketing content, and make recommendations for action.

Expanded responsibilities (depending on experience):

  • Paid ads – Review monthly reports, recommend changes, and brief designers for creatives.
  • A/B testing – Summarize results and recommend next steps.
  • Analytics – Use GA4, Matomo, and Search Console to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partnerships – Research, identify, and lead collaborations with strategic partners.

You will need
Essential skills and experience:

  • Basic SEO and data analysis experience, ideally in software/tech.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data-driven decision making.
  • Perfect written English (native-sounding if not first language).
  • Ability to write copy that translates technical features into benefits.
  • Ability to write in a relaxed but professional tone aligned with the Barn2 brand.
  • Excellent attention to detail and error-free writing.
  • Strong time management across multiple projects.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to work remotely with flexible hours.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Proven track record improving SEO rankings and organic growth.
  • Proficiency with GA4, Matomo, and Search Console.
  • Formal SEO/marketing qualifications.
  • Experience marketing WordPress, Shopify, or similar products.
  • Familiarity with Mailchimp and email marketing best practices.
  • Experience with PPC advertising (Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
  • Experience with A/B testing tools.
  • Strong outreach and link building skills.

How your role could develop
This role offers scope to grow into business development and strategic responsibilities as you demonstrate results.

You’ll report to
Katie, our CEO. You’ll also collaborate closely with our agency and in-house marketing team.

Working arrangements

  • Full-time (approx. 37–40 hours/week).
  • Fully remote.
  • At least 5 hours overlap with European time.

Salary
$35,000–$50,000 USD annually, depending on experience. Scope for increases as you hit performance milestones.
