AI-native WordPress Developer (HTML to Editable Sites)
The work
As a freelancer I work on website redesign projects and I need help with one specific part of them: converting static HTML mockups into fully editable, Gutenberg-ready WordPress sites, with Advanced Custom Fields where it makes sense.
That conversion step is the whole job. I have a static HTML mockup, and I need it turned into a real WordPress site the client can manage on their own.
What “fully editable” means to me
The client should be able to manage their content the way WordPress is meant to work: sensible blocks, reusable patterns, nothing fragile, no fields that break if you look at them wrong. The admin has to be genuinely easy for a non-technical person.
What I need from you
- Deep WordPress and Gutenberg experience from before AI. Years of building real sites, with strong opinions about how blocks, patterns, and ACF should be set up.
- Fully adapted to building with AI. You use Claude Code/Codex and agentic workflows day to day, and you let the agents do the building.
- The judgment and taste to know what good looks like, catch what’s off, and shape the result into something that holds up.
Both things at once: deep WordPress instinct and a modern, AI-native way of working. One without the other won’t be a fit.

This is ongoing. I have a steady stream of these projects, so I’m after a real working relationship, not a single gig.
