Developer / Technical Support

Rainmaker Digital Services continues to expand its development team. As a leading provider of content marketing software and services to organizations seeking authentic and authoritative relationships with their customers, we serve the digital marketing needs of over 500 entrepreneurs and businesses worldwide. We are looking for a Developer / Technical Support team member to join us full-time. This is a 100% remote position, so you can be anywhere in the world and manage your own schedule. The position is contract to permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee support tickets, tasks and client projects on a daily basis
  • Monitor, manage and communicate status of Technical Support inquires to internal team and customers
  • Help write client proposals for production-based and development-based projects
  • Document work within the code base and in project management systems
  • Work with systems team to identify and implement features and enhancements to servers and underlying technologies
  • Must be comfortable with customer-facing roles, including support and documentation.

Requirements

  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Experience with project and/or product management
  • Proficiency with support management and project management tools
  • Experience providing direct support to clients via online tools, email and direct calls
  • 3+ years working with WordPress
  • Proficiency with PHP, MySQL and web development tools
  • Experience with WordPress plugin development and Version Control Software (Git)
  • A strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Linux, NGINX and Nagios
  • Some understanding of WP-CLI, secure connections, DNS and email related technologies (SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc)
  • A working understanding of Genesis Framework, Vagrant, Grunt, Gulp and PHPUnit
  • Ability to feel scope creep, and coordinate with Client Services on how to handle it with that client/project
