Travelopia is the world’s leading collection of experiential travel brands. We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of WordPress Development to lead our development team, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver enterprise-scale WordPress applications.
Responsibilities
– Develop and execute a strategic vision for WordPress initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives in the travel industry
– Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale WordPress websites and applications, ensuring high-quality standards, performance, and user experience
– Manage a team of WordPress developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Sales, and Product to ensure a seamless integration of WordPress projects into the overall business strategy
– Stay current with the latest WordPress developments, trends, and technologies, and make recommendations to enhance our WordPress capabilities
– Oversee the selection, customization, and integration of WordPress themes and plugins, with a focus on performance, security, and SEO
– Monitor and analyze website performance and user engagement metrics, and develop strategies to optimize and improve results
– Establish and maintain best practices for WordPress development, security, and optimization
– Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to WordPress websites and applications
– Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and user guides for WordPress projects
Qualifications
– Proven track record of successfully delivering large enterprise-grade WordPress projects with focus on performance, security and scalability.
– Solid understanding of WordPress best practices and guidelines
– Excellent understanding of responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, and SEO best practices
– Familiarity with WordPress hosting, server management, and performance optimization
– Experience in contributing to open-source projects, particularly within the WordPress ecosystem is a plus
– Proven experience leading and managing a team of developers
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
– Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
