Hillvestor is a curated real estate marketplace focused exclusively on investment-worthy properties in India. We are building a fast, secure, privacy-first platform and are looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to help us scale it thoughtfully.
This role is for someone who wants to work close to WordPress core, take ownership of architecture, and build systems intended to last.
This is not a page-builder or theme-customization role.
Our marketplace is built on a plugin-first architecture, with HivePress as the base layer and custom plugins handling business logic.
What You’ll Work On
- Designing, building, and maintaining custom WordPress plugins and core platform features
- Working extensively with custom post types, taxonomies, metadata, and queries
- Extending and customizing HivePress marketplace functionality using hooks, filters, and custom extensions
- Writing production-grade PHP using WordPress-native APIs
- Improving performance, security, and long-term maintainability
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with WordPress core, including hooks, filters, and APIs
- Advanced PHP skills with an emphasis on clean, secure, standards-compliant code
- Experience extending third-party plugins by reading and working with their source code (direct HivePress experience is a plus, not a requirement)
- Solid understanding of vanilla JavaScript and modern CSS
- Proven experience building custom plugins (not just themes or page builders)
- Strong knowledge of WordPress security best practices
- A mindset that values clarity, quality, and long-term thinking
Nice to Have
- Experience building marketplaces, directories, or listing-based platforms
- REST API development experience
- SEO-conscious development experience (schema, performance, clean markup)
