Position Summary

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and solution-driven WordPress Technical Support Engineer to be the front line of our client support system. You’ll help troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve WordPress-related issues across themes, plugins, APIs, and performance concerns from our clients.

This role blends technical expertise with customer service excellence—ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in solving problems others can’t.

Key Responsibilities
• Respond to and resolve technical support tickets involving WordPress websites
• Troubleshoot issues related to themes, plugins, database errors, and site performance
• Investigate site outages, critical errors, and white screens of death
• Support integrations with APIs, third-party tools, and payment gateways
• Collaborate with engineering teams to escalate and resolve deep technical issues
• Help customers through site migration, updates, or rollbacks
• Maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and internal tooling
• Educate users and junior team members with clear, concise technical guidance
• Monitor logs and alerts for signs of degradation or risk

Required Skills & Experience
• 2+ years of experience in WordPress technical support or development
• Proficiency in:
• WordPress admin panel & backend tools
• PHP and MySQL
• HTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery
• WP-CLI, cPanel, FTP/SFTP, and SSH
• Debugging tools (e.g. Query Monitor, Log Files, Browser DevTools)
• Familiarity with:
• Custom themes & plugins
• Caching mechanisms (e.g. WP Rocket, Varnish)
• Site optimization and Lighthouse audits
• Security best practices (e.g. hardening, malware scans)
• Hands-on experience with:
• Git for version control
• Support platforms (e.g. Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, or Jira Service Desk)

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Nice to Have)
• Experience working with WooCommerce, Elementor, or ACF
• Familiarity with CDNs (e.g. Cloudflare) and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Docker, Linux command line, or DevOps tools
• Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and SEO fundamentals
