Project Overview:
We’re a nonprofit preparing to update our Compassionate Christmas website—an annual online gift catalog where donors give in honor of loved ones. We’re keeping our current WordPress site and overall structure, but need help with content implementation, styling updates, and some functionality cleanup in WooCommerce/WCDonation—especially in the checkout flow.
We’re open to hiring one person for the full project, or splitting it into two roles:
* One focused on development/functionality (WooCommerce + WCDonation)
* One focused on content and layout updates

Scope of Work:
- Content & Visual Updates
- Remove a few outdated pages and update copy/images on remaining pages.
- Style all new content (provided by our team) to match the updated print catalog.
- Small homepage updates (new colors, illustrations, and minor text tweaks).
- We’ll deliver all final content and assets by mid-to-late July.
- Navigation
- No major nav changes.
- The “Gift Catalog” dropdown will have fewer subpages and a few renamed titles.
- Checkout Functionality (WooCommerce + WCDonation)
- We’re using WooCommerce with WCDonation to power the gift-giving experience.
- One feature we need help improving is the “Gift of Love” flow — where users give in honor of someone else.
- Currently, this experience is clunky and confusing. We want a smooth, user-friendly prompt when a user selects a gift, with a clean way to dedicate it.
- This may involve light custom coding or plugin tweaks.
- Future-Proofing
- We want the site to be easier to maintain in future years — ideally requiring only content swaps and not full dev support.
Timeline:
- Final content/design files ready: mid-to-late July
- Goal for all updates complete: end of August
Ideal Skills:
- Strong WordPress experience
- Familiarity with WooCommerce and WCDonation
- Comfortable with light plugin customization or styling tweaks
- Attention to detail — especially matching web styling to a print design
Bonus: experience working with nonprofits or donor-facing sites
