Our team is growing and we’re looking for a talented WordPress Technical Writer to develop high-quality, informative content for our audience of WordPress users and developers. This is a full-time, remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere.
As WordPress Technical Writer, you’ll be joining the product team. You’ll apply your writing skills, taking confusing technical jargon and explaining it clearly so anyone can easily understand. You’ll also be responsible for improving our existing documentation and creating new content.

Your key responsibilities will include (but aren’t limited to):
Taking charge of creating and updating all our documentation for new features and product releases. This involves teaming up with the product team to learn about new functionalities, then translating technical details into clear, user-friendly content, and keeping all our resources accurate and consistent.
Managing the whole process of updating our documentation to boost user experience and help reduce support requests. You’ll work closely with the support team, getting their feedback to proactively address recurring issues and making it simple for them to suggest edits or highlight areas that need more clarity.
Creating clear, step-by-step visuals, like screenshots and screen recordings for tutorials, using tools like Snagit to highlight important areas in the technical guide.
Demonstrating experience leveraging AI to make your writing process even better, backed by specific examples and use cases.
Writing technical tutorials that are both easy to read and error-free, all while following our specific style guidelines.
Thoroughly self-editing and proofreading your content to ensure it’s straightforward for even beginners to follow.
Assisting the growth team with content for our marketing efforts.
Writing/updating blog posts based on new features/releases
Always seeking opportunities to update and improve our existing documentation, keeping it current and valuable.
Working with our developers and support team to efficiently get your tasks done.
Implementing any requested edits to your work without getting frustrated.
Being highly organized and great with project management tools, able to meet all your deadlines and stay on top of things with minimal supervision
Here are the skills and experience that will come in handy:
Advanced WordPress Experience: Our audience is made up almost entirely of WordPress users. Understanding how to explain complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand content is preferred.
Technical Writing and Editing Skills: You can write well-structured, high-quality, accurate technical content with impeccable grammar and spelling in a conversational tone. You can also edit and proofread your own work to prevent errors.
SEO Knowledge: A solid understanding of SEO best practices and experience optimizing web content.
Image Editing: You can efficiently take screenshots; resize and crop images; add text, borders, or other elements; compress images; and upload and format them in WordPress so they are clear, useful, and look good. Experience with Snagit is a plus.
Basic HTML Understanding: Familiarity with fundamental HTML for web content.
Research Capabilities: The ability to research complex technical topics independently and thoroughly.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to writing, editing, and proofreading.
Time Management: You’re able to juggle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize your work effectively to meet all deadlines.
Prior Remote Work Experience (preferred): Experience working effectively in a remote team setting. You are available to participate in weekly meetings between 9 AM – 5 PM MDT.
Bonus points if you also have:
A genuine enjoyment for both writing and technical implementation.
A portfolio of relevant documentation or technical content that you’ve produced and are proud to showcase. Examples must be written in English.
Experience with tools like Google Workspace, Slack for communication, GitHub for product issue tracking, Linear for project management, or HelpScout for customer support is a plus.
